Reproduce the tutorial illustrations

The maintained drawing, property, export, keyboard, MCP and desktop captures use the vibe-sketcher 0.6.4 release, source commit b15c5781754d1e2d46153bdb48eb13092bfd9904. The installed package was checked against that release before capture. The application displayed 0.6.4 and the current product name; the older system installation was not used.

Capture records identify all 19 images, fixture/output SHA256 hashes, viewport settings and actions. The source VSKs under _static/examples/ are unchanged. Existing geometries were reused; no queue job was submitted, cancelled or rescheduled. Images are actual unretouched application captures. There are no animation frames in this capture set.

From the repository root, use a Python environment with Playwright and set APP_PYTHON to the verified installed application’s bundled Python:

python scripts/capture_tutorial_screenshots.py --app-python "$APP_PYTHON" \
  --version 0.6.4 --source b15c5781754d1e2d46153bdb48eb13092bfd9904 \
  --output NEW_BROWSER_CAPTURES

The helper accepts --browser for an installed Chromium executable. It runs the installed bundle on a loopback backend with isolated configuration and blocks calculation submissions and geometry generation. Browser views use 1440 × 900 CSS pixels at scale 1 and 100% canvas zoom, except the two-step view at 75%. The compact palette, export-menu and input-form states are set explicitly in the script. The MCP image opens the tracked 3D Diels–Alder VSK and changes a label through the released stdio transport.

For the macOS desktop views, set APP to the installed .app and PLAYWRIGHT_MODULE to the installed Node Playwright module. The script uses a copied fixture and an isolated profile, verifies the packaged application identity, and captures only windows owned by its launched process:

node scripts/capture_desktop_screenshots.cjs "$APP" \
  docs/_static/examples/diels-alder.vsk NEW_DESKTOP_CAPTURES "$PLAYWRIGHT_MODULE"

The native About panel is selected with capture_owned_windows.swift; macOS screen-recording permission is required. The browser capture is the app’s 1440 × 900 content viewport, while About retains native window pixels.

The unmodified 0.6.4 package still emits former product names in optional integration install hints and some export headers. Those residual display strings are corrected in maintained source for a subsequent release; they are not painted out of the released-app captures. Stable schema, producer and service identifiers remain compatibility interfaces.

The single historical completion image records earlier real calculations and is labelled accordingly. Its numerical content was not regenerated for this rename. Redundant simulated terminal states and older external-Python setup, save-copy and viewer illustrations were retired; their tutorial sections and anchors remain available.

The example archive was regenerated by the released 0.6.4 Python with python named_reactions.py NEW_DIRECTORY. Its REPRODUCTION.json records the generator hash, source and output hashes. It contains local teaching inputs and conformers, not new quantum results. Stable format/package identifiers and legacy descriptive headers emitted by 0.6.4 are preserved as release evidence.

The Diels–Alder SVG/PNG and hydrogenation SVG are also exported directly from these unchanged fixtures by 0.6.4. Their figure records retain input/output hashes and the original document style. Reproduce them with:

"$APP_PYTHON" -I -B scripts/export_tutorial_figures.py NEW_FIGURES \
  --version 0.6.4 --source b15c5781754d1e2d46153bdb48eb13092bfd9904

Other retained VSK/CDXML fixtures retain their original producer/version metadata. This records their actual creation history, not a claim that they were newly created with 0.6.4.
